08.02.2010 - Ball of Sport
The 40th Ball of Sport took place on February 6th, 2010 in Wiesbaden. Germany’s biggest event for German athletes, journalists and politicians proved another successful start to a new sports year. In keeping with the Sporthilfe’s motto for this year’s ball, “Eine Nacht auf Eis” Spotlight was asked to produce a dynamic Opening ice show.
The fast-paced modern choreography by Jennifer Weiss and performed by 18 amateur and professional figure skaters drew enthusiastic applause from the almost 3000 VIP’s in attendance. Germany’s Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle called it “the most spectacular” Opening he had ever seen at the Ball, while the Sporthilfe named it the highlight of the night’s programme.

06.01.2010 - Rock the Ice
January 3rd, 2010 marked the world premiere of Rock the Ice. The show starring 3-time World Champion Elvis Stojko was a near sell-out in the Peterborough Memorial Arena. In addition to enjoying Stojko’s powerful rock performances on the ice, those in attendance had the chance to hear the skater/singer’s debut album “100 Lifetimes.” The cast, which featured a European flare not usually seen in North America, also included World Champion Jeffrey Buttle, World-Silver Medallist Joannie Rochette, 5-time European Champion Surya Bonaly and several world-class special acts.

31.12.2009 - Several Spotlight Shows in Bavaria
Spotlight brought its annual winter production to Regensburg on December 26th and then to Oberstdorf on the 30th. The show featuring 3-time World Champion and 2-time Olympic Silver Medallist Elvis Stojko, 2-time European Champion Carolina Kostner and 6-time Italian Ice Dance Champions Federica Faiella & Massimo Scali was broadcast from Oberstdorf live on Eurosport television.
The münchenmusik/Spotlight Production collaboration “Romance Classics on Ice” saw its 12-show run in Munich come to a close, just after the Regensburg show took off. The Prince Regent Theatre provided the magical backdrop for the on-ice theatre production that once again wove the music of the Munich Symphony Orchestra with the elegance of figure skating
